Tour Details

Looking to take your sense of adventure beyond the tourist spots? Curious as to what lies to the East of the Bosphorus? Ready to see Türkiye’s biggest and boldest mosque? Good news—we’ve put together this tour of Istanbul’s Anatolian (Asian) side just for you!

1. Day: 4 August Monday

Üsküdar - Harem - Çamlıca

This tour, perhaps our most adventurous, kicks off with a defining, unique feature of Istanbul - a half-hour ferry ride between two continents! Once we land on Asian soil, our first stop is a seaside mosque built on the exact dimensions of the Kaaba, before exploring some of Üsküdar’s finest views and spiritual sites (the two are often side-by-side in Istanbul!) We will then pray at the mosque of Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi, one of the Bosphorus’ four patron saints, followed by an authentic lunch of fresh fish from Üsküdar’s bustling fish market. Up next are the Ayasofya and Blue mosque equivalents of the Asian side - Yeni Valide and Mihrimah Sultan Mosques - before visits to the resting places of the district’s great saints. Next, after praying at Büyük Selimiye Mosque, we will make our way to two of the finest pieces of modern architecture in Istanbul - the acclaimed Şakirin Mosque, the first mosque in Istanbul to be designed by female architects, and the Marmaray University Mosque. After marveling at its impressive spiralled dome, we will head onwards to the highlight of the tour: the Great Çamlıca Mosque, the biggest mosque in Türkiye. Here we will spend a beautiful evening: resting in its serene park, watching the sunset, and dining atop the Çamlıca hill, before being called to prayer by some of Istanbul’s most beautiful voices and praying together. All this and more awaits you on our Across Anatolia tour…
